Brad Mills (manager)
James Bradley Mills (born January 19, 1957) is a former manager of the Houston Astros and a former Major League Baseball (MLB) player. He is the father of retired professional baseball player Beau Mills. Early life Mills was educated at Exeter Union High School in California, College of the Sequoias, and the University of Arizona, where he was drafted in the 17th round by the Montreal Expos. Baseball career Playing career Mills reached the major leagues in 1980 and went on to post a .256 batting average with one home run and 12 RBI in 106 games played for the Expos (1980–83). He divided his time between Triple-A and the majors in each of those seasons, and sustained a right knee injury that ended his playing career at the age of 29. Bradley Aaron Mills (born March 5, 1985) is a former American professional baseball pitcher and current coach. He has played in Major League Baseball (MLB) for the Toronto Blue Jays, Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim, and Oakland Athletics and in Nippon Professional Baseball for the Orix Buffaloes. Playing career Amateur career Mills graduated from Mountain View High School (Mesa, Arizona), Mountain View High School in Mesa, Arizona, and pitched collegiately for the Arizona Wildcats baseball, University of Arizona Wildcats. Toronto Blue Jays Mills was originally selected by the Toronto Blue Jays in the 22nd round (660th overall) in the 2006 amateur draft. Mills, however, chose not to sign with the Jays and instead returned to school for his senior year to complete his degree in civil engineering. Bradley "Brad" Mills (born May 3, 1983) is a Canadian former professional ice hockey forward who played in the National Hockey League (NHL) with the New Jersey Devils and the Chicago Blackhawks. Playing career On March 16, 2007, Mills was signed by the New Jersey Devils to a two-year entry level contract. During the 2010–11 season, Mills was recalled from AHL affiliate, the Albany Devils, and scored his first NHL goal on November 3, 2010 against Marty Turco of the Chicago Blackhawks. Affected as a free agent by the 2012 NHL lockout, Mills signed a contract with the Utah Grizzlies of the ECHL on October 3, 2012. In scoring 35 points in 27 games during the 2012–13 season with the Grizzlies, Mills was initially loaned to the Rockford IceHogs of the AHL, before he was signed to a contract to remain with the IceHogs on January 31, 2013.
